The first international painting symposium "When The Cherry Trees Are In Bloom" inspired by Japanese Sakura was launched in Echmiadzin. It concentrated on itself the attention of 8 countries of the world.
The painters were invited to the spiritual capital of Armenia by the "Cross of Armenian Unity" NGO. The artists worked in place on Armenian subjects. A new and modern exhibition hall was opened to exhibit the works of Armenian and foreign painters.
